本編翻譯初稿。大都係依據斯溫蕾司鐸聖詠歌之英譯 (James M'Swiney, Translation of Psalms and Canticles with Commentary。一九○一年倫敦 B. Herder 書局出版。具有 Hebrew-Masoretic Text 及 Vulgate Version 兩行並列之英譯。) 其他參考書籍擇要錄後。以供世之道友有心於此者。作進一步之探討焉。惟此次譯稿。成於抗戰期間。文獻羅致。艱難之至。承于總主教。羅民勞主教。張伯達神父。那明經神父。費悅義神父。方杰人神父。徐宗澤神父。蒲魯士神父。師仁傑神父。范介萍神父。鍾志漁神父。葉忠祥神父。陳道南神父。梅雨絲神父。吳應楓神父。王方神父。明興禮神父。彭廉石神父。及葉秋原。袁承斌。程石泉。慕天恩。陳如一諸先生之概予協助。始克彙集下列極可珍貴之資料。善功美意。並此誌謝。
